She's Cute When She's Mad

It makes me even angrier when people say that about me, but in Aria's case, it's totally true. Here she is, super unhappy because I wanted to have her try on the new infant bicycle helmet that I bought for her. She really does hate having anything on her head (hair clips, hats, bike helmets - you name it!).

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We started putting up our Christmas decorations tonight and this year Aria is old enough to enjoy them. Here she is with the barking/singing Santa puppy watching the Mickey & Friends clock towers.

Towing Cars

Look at that concentration! Aria gets the hang of her new tow truck puzzle.

To view her in live action playing with this puzzle, I also uploaded a YouTube video: Tow Truck Puzzle.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Grandma sings the Itsy Bitsy Spider for a slightly fussy Aria on our way home from lunch today. It was a great distraction from her teething pain and crankiness.

Thanksgiving Dinner ... Part 2

Hosting a second Thanksgiving dinner at our house for the family. Did I mention that there was way too much food?

Aria & RJ

Aria and RJ hang out with Brian on a hectic Thanksgiving day. Even though it was pretty hectic, we did manage to get a photo of the two youngest kiddies sometime amidst all the eating (and eating... and did I mention eating?).

And So It Begins...

A shot of the family after a lunch at the Tadamasa ramen house in Union City. Let the Thanksgiving eating (and eating, and eating) begin!

Neat Freak #2

It's been a few weeks and Aria STILL likes to push the sweeper around. Here she is "cleaning" at Po Po's house while Po Po, Auntie Esther (and Auntie Kammie) watch. Hmmm... maybe a toy vaccuum cleaner that really works will be what Santa gives her for Christmas this year (or maybe it's a gift that Santa gives to her mommy :-P).

Free Range "Won Tons"

Brian takes a big bite of his first "won ton" in years. My mom and I decided to surprise him today for dinner with some homemade free range turkey and shrimp "won tons".

We All Scream for Ice Cream ... Cones

Aria chows down on an ice cream cone at Sweet Tomatoes. This was the only thing from their menu that she would eat (but she did manage to down 2 full ones).

Thank You Dinner

A thank you dinner with Mr. & Mrs. K (Suporn's teacher and his wife) at Bangkok Bay in Redwood City for the Monday Night Football tickets at Candlestick (against the Saints) earlier this football season. It was a wonderful evening and a pleasure to meet both of them (and I know Mike & Brian had a blast at that game as well.)

Aria's New Friend

Aria says "hello" to her new backyard friend, our new turtle. Sorry for the blur that is her hand - it's difficult to get a good shot of her in low light because she is constantly moving.

Light Show #2

Tonight Aria participated in her own little light show. Thanks to Po Po, she had some new toys to play with - some light up balls. She had some fun tonight shaking them around in our darkened hallway.

Nighttime Caulking

With the combination of it getting dark earlier and the upcoming storm, poor Brian spent some time tonight caulking our new patio light to ensure that it would be safe from the rain forecasted this weekend.

Light Show

I must have taken hundreds of shots before I finally got this one. I was expiermenting a bit with the camera in order to capture our new light additions in the backyard just right while Aria and Po Po watched the light show of our changing color butterfly and hummingbird lights (which will be finding its permanent home in Po Po's yard soon).

P.S. OK - I checked... this is only the 87th photo, but it felt like hundreds. :-P

Daddy's Home!

Aria is delighted when Daddy comes home after a long day's at work (and shopping for the backyard). How can this smile and giggle not cheer you up, no matter how tired you are?

Say "Ah!"

We had lunch at the Thai temple today and turns out, Aria likes noodles. Of course, she wouldn't use the fork, but preferred to have them fed to her by hand. Thanks to Auntie Suporn for taking photos!

Taking advantage of an opportune pose while Aria played with her golf clubs this morning. Pretty good stance. :-)

How Much is that Birdie in the Window?

Tweet tweet! We took Aria to Petco tonight after dinner to see how she would react to all the animals. She seemed to enjoy looking at the birds, rats, mice, guinea pigs, and fish; and she was exploring the rest of the store with gusto as well after we "let her loose". A successful little side trip before we had to go to boring Lowe's to get yet some more lights for the backyard (although she was thrilled with all the Christmas decorations there too).

New Glasses

My first pair of new glasses in over 4 years, thanks to the extra money I have in my FSA account this year (luckily, all the money we put aside for Aria's sick days were never used - she's an extremely healthy little girl!).

"Toys 'R" Who?

Who needs toys? Aria surprised me tonight by taking out some spice bottles from the pantry and stacking them tall and precariously. (She did this on her own with no help or encouragement from me.)

Thai Pose

Aria models the top of the new Thailand outfit that she received as a gift. It was a little big, so it still fit over her other clothes (which is why she looks a little puffed up in this photo). The water spots are from one of her bath squeeze toys that she ran away with before we could stop her...

Thanks for the gift and welcome home Uncle Mike and Auntie Suporn!

Our New View

I captured the new view of our backyard from our game room window. The new spotlights were installed today (complete with auto timer) and the difference is like night and day.

Sunday, November 7, 2010

We had some extra time this morning on a "Fall Back" Sunday, so Brian let Aria play with his laptop while he was getting his fantasy football lineup ready for the day. She couldn't get enough of the computer error sound and kept repeating "Ding!"

Snug as a Bug

It was a rare occurrence this morning to have to wake Aria up. We had a pretty busy morning planned (shed shopping for my mom and then a run at Coyote Hills for an early World Run Day in memory of my dad), so I needed to get her up and ready to go. She was all cozy and snug in the corner of her crib even after I turned on her music toy, turned on the lights and made some extra noise getting her clothes from her dresser. I finally just had to pick her up and let her wake up on the way to Po Po's house.

Fall Cleaning

It's not the most exciting photo, but I was so happy to have some time to clean out our pantry. It may not look like much either, but we ended up getting rid of 6 garbage bags full of expired food products and condiments. Now to see how long it'll stay this way. :-P

Swinging Away

We know she enjoys the swings, but today, Aria showed it by flashing those pearly whites while she was swinging away at a nearby neighborhoold park. She also enjoyed going down the slides a few times with and without mommy.

Congrats Again Giants!

We were with the Giants parade celebration today (in spirit anyway). Congratulations again to the SF Giants and their fans for a World Series win!

P.S. There's a "fun" version of this photo too. Check it out here.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Aria signs "please" to get Po Po to read her a "story". She's really into the dozens of catalogues that are coming to our home for holiday shopping because she loves looking at all of the photos of the toys.

"S" Curves

A look of concentration on her face, Aria is determined to navigate the "S" curves on our sitting wall bench. There's a YouTube video out there too of her scooting along. She was having a blast, but I was definitely a little nervous letting her navigate the curves on her own.
